Dr. Charles R. Walker earned his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the UT Southwestern Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and completed his internship and clinical neuropsychology fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical School. He has served in full-time and adjunct faculty teaching and research positions at UT Southwestern, Texas Tech Medical School, Texas Tech University, UT Tyler, and most recently UT Health Northeast, where he was co-chair of the Institutional Review Board (research ethics review). He has worked in rehabilitation medicine for many years and is the former Corporate Director of Clinical Affairs for a multi-state system of neurorehabilitation centers. He has extensive clinical experience in pain management, brain injury rehabilitation, and behavioral health issues affecting medical patients. He has been a consultant neuropsychologist to medical and psychiatric hospitals, schools, and other healthcare facilities for over 20 years. He has taught extensively across a broad range of topics related to psychology, physiology, medicine, and professional ethics. He is a licensed psychologist health service provider and has provided expert testimony concerning brain injury and mental health issues in state and federal courts.

Dr. Walker is an active member of multiple professional organizations related to psychology, neuropsychology, brain injury, and rehabilitation, and he served as president of the East Texas Psychological Association in 2007. He is a former member of the Board of Trustees for the Texas Psychological Association (TPA) and the TPA Speakers Bureau, and he was appointed in 2016 by the State Commissioner to the Advisory Council for the Department of State Health Services Office of Acquired Brain Injury. He has been active in community service and volunteer efforts and has received numerous teaching and professional service honors and awards over the years.
